Document Types and Icons

Notebooks document types are easy to identify by their icons. Here is a quick reference.

When you set Notebooks to use thumbnails instead of icons, images and PDF documents will always display a thumbnail. Formatted documents and Markdown documents will show a thumbnail of the first embedded image, but if they don’t have any embedded images, they will display an icon instead.
