Many users have asked us for an alternative purchase option for Notebooks for Mac, which, up to now, was available exclusively from the Mac App Store. Today we announce that Notebooks for Mac is also available directly from our website.
As far as functionality is concerned, this version of Notebooks is identical to the one available from the Mac App Store. However, it is not limited by Apple’s sandboxing, which has a few benefits:
- PDF documents can be displayed with Adobe Acrobat Reader, and other document types that may use a Safari plug in can be correctly displayed as well.
- Notebooks is allowed to traverse hard links, so you can link documents and folders from across your hard drives and make them available within Notebooks’ hierarchy.
When you download and install Notebooks for Mac, it is in a 30 day trial mode. If you want to continue using Notebooks after that period, you need to register and purchase a license (from paddle.com, our vendor). Of course you are welcome to purchase a license before the trial period expires.
To celebrate our new releases, we offer all versions of Notebooks at a discounted price.
Continue to download Notebooks for Mac.
Is it possible to transfer a license from the App Store version to the non-sandboxed version?
Yes of course. Just send us the receipt of your MAS purchase (send it to info@notebooksapp.com) and we will transfer your license.
Can I transfer the Mac App Store license to the non-App Store version?
Hi Hank, just send us the receipt of your MAS purchase (send it to info@notebooksapp.com) and we will transfer your license.
Is there a way to transfer a MAS license into a license for direct download as described here?
Thanks!
Hi Sven, if you send us the receipt of your MAS purchase (info@notebooksapp.com) we will transfer your license.
Alfons
